Good morning, we finally made it to Friday. It's February 2nd. I'm Julie Morgan. Meta platforms announces his first

ever dividend. Disney is following in the footsteps of Netflix and Intel delays

the new chip facility in Ohio.

Meta platforms jump 15% in the first hour of post market action on a big earnings Thursday.

After its fourth quarter earnings report beat revenue

expectations by nearly a billion dollars. The company also launched its first

ever dividend along with an increase to its stock buyback of $50 billion.

The social media giant also guided to the upside for the first quarter.

Revenues rose 25% overall to top 40.1 billion dollars versus street consensus for

39.2 billion. And while operating losses at reality Labs increased only slightly operating income at the company's

core family of apps that's Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp nearly doubled to just over $21 billion.

Meanwhile, the company initiated a 50 cents per share quarterly dividend payable March 26.

For the current quarter, Meta expects total revenue of $34.5 to $37 billion, well over street

consensus of $33.87 billion.

Walt Disney is joining Netflix and cracking down on password sharing.

If you have Hulu, Disney Plus or ESPN Plus, you probably received an updated subscriber agreement

in your email.

At Hulu for existing subscribers, consumers will be limited to sharing within their households starting March 14th.

This went into effect for new subscribers on January 25th.

Disney defines a household as the collection of devices associated with your primary

personal residents that are used by the individuals who reside therein.
