And I mean deep as in deep dish, the subject, really,

of today's duff, menachot 101. Have a listen. In the case of one who says, it is incumbent upon me

to bring a meal offering prepared in a shallow pan, and he brought a meal offering prepared in a deep pan instead.

Or if he said, it is incumbent upon me to bring a meal offering prepared in a deep pan,

and he brought a meal offering prepared in a shallow pan instead,

the meal offering that he brought, he brought is a voluntary meal offering,

but he has not fulfilled his obligation that he undertook with his

vow, and he must, therefore, bring another meal offering. Which if you think about it is really strange.

What difference should it make if the meal offering, I vow to bring, was prepared in a pan that is

an inch deep or nine inches deep.

Isn't it the same basic ingredient, the same basic form of applying heat, the same kitchen

utensils, the same well, everything?

That's sort of like saying that New York style pizza is like Chicago style pizza.

Both are dough, cheese, and tomato sauce in the oven,

except that one is cooked on a shallow sheet and the other in a deep pan.

And what do us New Yorkers think of Chicago style pizza?
