This news devastating as a human being, as an American. And as a football fan in the E.C.L. measure, I'm still reeling if you've not read the bombshell revelations written by Meg Linnah.

An incredible, incredible work by her in the athletic about the abuses perpetrated over an incredible period of time by North Carolina Courage Coach Paul Riley and a beautiful power sexual coercion that's alleged to have occurred across several clubs.

Since 2010, brazenly, partying with players, grooming, sexual coercion that was no cover-up and enabled.

I mean, this article has, I think, 12 women reporting in stories about a pattern that's now all too familiar from really from the entertainment industry.

We've seen it in politics now, infecting the National Women's Soccer League, a league that was meant to lift up women.

Reminder, as I said on Friday's podcast, that just building spaces for women doesn't mean at all that they are safe spaces.

In fact, as we've seen with US gymnastics, they become targets for predators to swoop into positions of power and insert themselves as troll-like gatekeepers,

praying on the hopes and dreams of their victims in the most devastatingly destructive way. It's just horrifying, David.

Oh, it's, I'm, I tell you, there are not many times that you pick up the paper, even though you do it on the internet these days, and read a story that that shocks you, that you just never would have expected to read.

But this is something that I just didn't see coming in a million years.

In a, in a story that shocks you in so many different levels, yes, the courage fired Riley in the wake of the story, yet as so many players made clear, the league, the league front office,

had been informed of the coaches' offences on a number of occasions and not just fell to act, but almost covered it over.

This is another men protecting men's situation, not like what is going on with Ronaldo and the credible rape charges, which are air brushed out by every 95 minute wonder goal that he scores.

How do these things become almost an open secret, David?
