I'm your host Michael, and on today's episode, I interview Melanie McQuaid.

0:32.9

Melanie is probably very familiar to longtime listeners because she has been on the show before in

0:37.8

episode 375 and 196. But in today's episode, we talk about her qualifying for and racing in

0:44.9

Kona as the first ever professional 50-year-old athlete to do so. And we of course bring that into a more

0:50.8

general discussion about training considerations for older athletes.

0:54.8

Then we go into a long Q&A session and I want to thank you all for the great questions

0:59.9

that have been sent in and also encourage everybody to keep sending in questions as even

1:04.7

when I haven't specifically planned for a Q&A episode, I always store every question that

1:10.5

comes in and once I reach a

1:11.7

certain number of questions in the inbox, then I can always do an imprompt to Q&A episode, either as a

1:16.7

solo episode or with a guest like here with Mel. I do read and answer all the questions that I

1:22.2

receive. I should caveat that maybe by saying that all the questions that I receive via email

1:27.1

because I

1:27.9

am pretty bad at reading messages on other platforms so I can might often miss those or get back

1:33.3

to them very very late with the exception being of course when I put out request for questions

1:38.8

in the Instagram stories when I so when I specifically ask for it then of course I get all of those questions and

1:45.5

store them. But when I get questions in my inbox outside of those times, then I might be a bit

1:51.9

bad at reading those. So apologies for that, but just get in touch with me via email if you want

1:56.3

to make sure to, yeah, that I will really see that in a timely manner. And speaking of callouts for questions, while we haven't really finalized the scheduling

2:05.9

yet, and this may still be a month or two down the line, it does look like I may be able

2:11.2

to get TrainingPeaks CEO, Dirk Freel on the podcast to discuss TrainingPeaks as a
