It's a mega banter year-in review this week on the business.

I am here for this year-end show with two banter buddies, Matt Bellany, editorial director of the Hollywood reporter, and Lucas Shaw, entertainment reporter at Bloomberg.

All right.

So the year, we're going to do some heavy lifting.

Of course, unfortunately, for me, we talk about

streaming wars a lot, and I have been complaining off mic a lot about the endless, endless need

to talk about the streaming wars. But that is really, I guess, I would say, the story of the

decade maybe, right? It's transforming Hollywood. And I don't know, Lucas, how do you see it hitting on the way you're covering

this beat? Well, it means that every big media company after several years of kind of trying to

dismiss Netflix and say that the pay TV business was going to be fine and the movie business

was going to be fine has had to change their model. They've all accepted that sort of the Netflix

model works, or at least is the future. And they now have to. Works for Netflix. Works for Netflix.

Up till now, I should say. But they have to come up with, they have decided to come up with their

version of it and see if they can beat Netflix at their own game, which now puts Netflix in a weird position of kind of once being the hunter, now being the hunted. We've seen Disney come in. We've seen Apple come in.

Next year we'll have HBO Max. We'll have Peacock. And just the sheer volume of movies and TV shows

...
