but are its rivals figuring out how to cross the streams.

and a king of Hollywood falls from his throne.

It's a mega news banter year in review this week on the business from KCRW.

I am here with two banter buddies from the Hollywood reporter, editorial director Matt Bellany,

and TV editor Leslie Goldberg. Hello.

Hi there. Hello. So, wow, big year. I don't even know where to begin, but let's start with Disney's

acquisition of Fox. And this is one of a couple of mega deals that we have seen, and we feel there's

more to come, as we have talked about on the show, Disney is

buying Fox, and it is going to change the landscape of Hollywood. Fox was, you know, it's one of

those legacy studios. We all knew the herd within in this era, with the tech companies coming in

and streaming, changing the model and all of that. I didn't think it would be Fox. We all thought, I think,

that Paramount or Sony, one of these studios that wasn't part of a mega company like NBC Universal

is part of Comcast and Disney is part of Disney and we just didn't see the future being Fox

picked off. But I think Rupert Murdoch, and I don't want to be unkind, possibly looked at his progeny and said,

I don't know if any of these kids.

I mean, I watch Succession on HBO if you want to get an implication of what I'm talking about.

Maybe that happened.

Maybe he just figured I can't do the streaming thing.
