Summary

We finally hear Matthew’s backstory in Matthew 9:9-13 as Jesus calls him away from his sinful life to become a disciple. As this amazing story unfolds, we learn how Jesus sees people differently than the world, how Matthew responded to Jesus’ call, and how we can follow his example as we also seek to follow Jesus.
