influence Israel's strategy and its war against Hamas may be nearing an inflection point.

Last night a senior administration official told NBC News that the White House halted a shipment

of weaponry to Israel specifically over concerns that it would be used by the Israeli military

in Rafa.

The official also raised the possibility that future aid to

Israel could be halted too. Today top administration officials at the

Pentagon and the State Department echo those warnings.

As we have assessed the situation,

we've paused one shipment of high payload munitions. And again, I think we've also been very clear about the steps

that we'd like to see Israel take to account for and take care of those civilians before major combat

takes place. We have paused one shipment of near-term assistance and we are

reviewing others.
