escalating attacks on Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg today,

reaffirming former president Trump's enduring hold on his party, even as he is poised to become

the first former president ever indicted. Republican leaders are focusing their fire on the

Manhattan DA, whose office could bring charges in the coming days tied to hush money payments,

Mr. Trump made to adult film star Stormy Daniels. This morning House Speaker Kevin McCarthy defended

former president Trump criticized the press for asking him about the case and called any prosecution

politically motivated. We live in America and it should be equal justice.

This was personal money. This wasn't try to hide. This was seven years ago,

statual limitation. And I think in your heart of hearts, you know too that you think this is just

political. So it's not here that we're coming to defend President Trump, what we're coming to

defend is equal justice in America. What we see before us is a political game being played by a

local. Look at this, this isn't New York City. This is just the Manhattan. This is just a burrow DA.
