We're following breaking news on the investigation into two attacks on U.S. soil on New Year's Day.

Right now in New Orleans, Bourbon Street has just reopened with

new security barriers in place after an attacker plowed his truck into a crowd of people on

Bourbon Street killing 14 and injuring dozens of people. And in Las Vegas, the FBI's Joint Terrorism

Task Force is now involved in the investigation after a rented

cyber truck exploded outside the Trump Hotel, injuring seven and killing the driver.

FBI officials in New Orleans saying today there is no definitive link between the two

incidents. And the Las Vegas Sheriff noted that there are similarities in these cases and they

are not ruling anything out.

Police today sharing new details about what the New Orleans attacker was doing in the days

and hours before the attack, which included planting two IEDs in the French quarter.

Officials today also saying 42-year-old Shamsidinjabar, an army veteran who was born in Texas, proclaimed his support for ISIS in a series of videos posted the day before the attack.

This was an act of terrorism.

It was premeditated and an evil act.
