Welcome to Meet the Press Now. I'm Gabe Gutierrez in Washington as the White House

and the rapidly shrinking field of presidential candidates faced a fallout

from former President Trump's landslide victory in last night's Iowa

caucuses with New Hampshire now just one week away. The former president took home

more than 50% of the Iowa caucus vote. It was a record setting 30 point victory.

He carried every single county

except for one where he trailed by just one single vote.

Ron DeSantis eked out a second place finish over Nicki Haley and the field is now effectively

just those three. Trump, DeSantis, and Haley.

The Vake Rama Swami dropped out last night endorsing Trump and Aesa Hutchinson ended his campaign this morning.

As for the frontrunner, his first stop after Iowa wasn't on the campaign trail, but back in a courtroom.

The former president voluntarily spent part of the day in Manhattan

for jury selection in a civil trial

that will determine how much he owes writer E. Jean Carroll for defaming her. It comes after a separate jury found

the former president liable for sexually assaulting her. And it is his third such a voluntary

appearance off the trail and in a courtroom in just the last two weeks

as the Trump campaign tries to convince primary voters that his many legal liabilities

are part of a conspiracy to derail his candidacy.

And it all comes as the former president took a victory lap last night urging all voters

to unite around this campaign. I want to congratulate Ron and Nicki for having a good time together.
