President Biden is being with top congressional leaders at the White House

trying to push an emergency funding request through Congress that would deliver vitally needed wartime

aid to Ukraine along with aid to Israel.

Right now getting that aid passed through Congress is contingent on getting a deal on border

security, but a bipartisan group of negotiators in the Senate have been working on the a government shutdown in two days. The president invited the so-called big four

congressional leaders to the White House that includes Senate Majority Leader

Schumer, Minority Leader McConnell, House Speaker Johnson, and Minority Leader

Jeffries.

Key leaders from Congressional Committees were also invited.

Sources tell NBC news that the President will be particularly focused on the urgent need

for additional aid to Ukraine, which comes after the administration's dire warnings last year

that aid was running out.

Yesterday, Secretary of State Anthony Blinking and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan

met with President Zelinsky at the annual economic summit in Davos

vowing enduring U.S. support for Ukraine. After that meeting Sullivan sounded

optimistic that Ukraine will get that much-needed assistance soon.

We've got to be able to will get that much needed assistance soon.

We've got to be able to deliver the necessary resources to Ukraine for the weapons that it needs.

President Biden is absolutely laser focused on that.

We are seeking to get that done in the coming weeks and in fact I continue to believe and express confidence that we will, you know, after a lot of twists and turns ultimately get there.

That aid package as we said is still tied up in border security talks that remain
