Summary
Kevin Briggs is the “Guardian of the Golden Gate.” The former California highway patrol officer has prevented more than two hundred people from dying by suicide on the Golden Gate Bridge. His tactic is simple but effective. He’ll ask the person in distress about their plans for the following day, then invites the person back to the bridge if their plan doesn’t work out. In a day when the threat of nuclear weapons continues to make headlines, how can we be more like Kevin Briggs? How can we bring hope to bear on fearful situations?
