Familicide is a term used to describe a type of murder where the suspect is closely related to their victims.

They will usually kill multiple members of their family quickly.

In many cases of familial side, the suspect will finish the rampage by ending their own life. I've lived in New Mexico my entire life,

and this specific case has stuck with me because of the savage nature of the killings and the

fact that they were committed by a 15-year-old boy. Around midnight on January 20, 2013, a young man entered his parents' bedroom in their

Southwest Albuquerque home at 2806 Long Lane Southwest.

His mother was sleeping peacefully in her bed.

The young man raised the rifle that was in his hand, aimed at his mother, and shot her

point blank.
