Grief is not an orderly process. It is not logical, has no rules, and disrupts our lives.

While in the throes of grief, we may have a hard time imagining that we could feel any differently than we do at this moment, we might feel a certain devotion to our sadness believing it to be a demonstration of our love.

Based on this belief, we may struggle with allowing ourselves to feel

happy. There are some losses we will never get over. We can trust that the Al-Anon principles are still

at work in us even if we don't feel that we have the strength to practice them.
