Today, we're very excited to interview Mike Grevelle,

former Democratic United States Senator from Alaska,

and a former candidate in the 2008 presidential elections.

He debated in the primaries against Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

As Senator Grevelle became nationally known for his attempts to end the draft

during the Vietnam War,

and for also putting the Pentagon papers into the public record in 1971.

Gravel is an advocate of direct democracy and is now endorsing the 9-11 ballot initiative efforts across the country.

He says the measure would create, quote, a citizen's commission rather than a government commission,

with subpoena power

against top U.S. officials to make a true investigation as to what happened regarding the

September 11th attacks. Thanks so much for listening to our interview with Mike Revelle.

All right, Mike, why don't we start off. Thank you so much again for talking to us today.

Why don't we start off? Why don't you give a short intro just of who you are for our audience? Well, I'm a former Senator Mike Ravel from the state of Alaska.

Rather, I represented Alaska in the United States Senate. I now live in California with my wife

and our little dog.

Mike, why don't you talk a little bit about your role in the Pentagon Papers?

Well, when I first got into the Senate, one of the things I get deeply involved with was the anti-nuclear. I was the first one to bring about a critique of the nuclear power generation.
