Rap back where you at?

Yo, what's off?

0:16.0

It's Monday, August 25th.

0:18.8

I'm Jeff, this is the rant, and I had a lot of fun this last weekend.

0:23.4

Hope you did as well, but fantasy football drafts in 2025, I'll tell you this. One main

0:28.5

observation. Of course, we're going to talk about the preseason. I also have to mention a little bit

0:32.1

about Terry McLaren on the podcast today. But one main observation from my home league

0:36.8

drafts, I have a couple of them

0:38.1

under my belt already. Casual drafters are way better than they used to be. And I don't

0:44.3

think that's a bad thing. I think that's a good thing for sure. I love more competition.

0:48.9

The folks in my home leagues way better. Even the worst drafters in those leagues way better than they were 10 years

0:57.4

ago or, you know, especially 20 years ago. You go back far enough. Hey, 20 years ago, you could value-based

1:02.7

draft blindfolded and draft a rock star team. You cannot do that today, especially in the early

1:09.1

rounds. You're not going to find any value today.

1:11.4

But it used to be that you could start scooping some value in the middle rounds. So value-based

1:17.3

drafting like 10 years ago was still relevant. I wasn't seeing that. You know, I was expecting

1:22.3

some drafts to fall apart and they really didn't. Now, some did ultimately when you get in the late

1:26.6

rounds, but you know, what are you going after in the late rounds anyway? Upside, right? There was even this one

1:31.1

dude and he's a decent player. He's not the best in in the league, but he's decent. And he executed

1:38.6

a flawless zero RB. Like in a super flex. I was like, hey, nicely done. I mean, the landscape is changing. And that's okay. That just means we have to apply some strategy as opposed to just going street value based. Of course, I did a podcast on that a couple weeks ago. And if you're going to ask me, yes, I'm a little under the weather. I realize that. But, you know, I don't take days off. I'm a little sick. whatever. Who cares? I need to do a podcast. What do you want from me? If you still have drafts this upcoming weekend, I still have a draft coming at you, Labor Day weekend. Some people load up Labor Day weekend with drafts. Well, we still have you covered over at FtnFantasy.com. I just updated the cheat sheets. So they're fully updated, ready to roll here.

2:20.0

And I'll update them again at the end of the week after roster cutdowns. And the nice thing is,

2:24.8

once we get to roster cutdowns, really there isn't anything major that's going to happen
