I'll tell you my biggest life hack of the last 30 years is the buck button on your phone.

And the understanding that some people in your life may be perfectly good people.

They may be people who have been or even are still friends of yours.

There may be people with whom you've had history and maybe people you genuinely like.

But if you're honest, they're people who are not really good for you.

They're people who, when the phone rings and it's them calling, your stress level goes

through the roof.

Managing your blood pressure is really more a question of blocking that person from calling

you than it is what you're eating or drinking, if you're honest.

And sometimes that can be a family member.

Just painful, painful reality, painful truth.

For me, embracing the block button was important.

It makes people mad.

The cell phone has become a tool of control and self-worth.

If someone calls you and you don't answer, they call you back again and you don't answer.

Whether you're having a heart attack or you're out fishing or your phone's dead, when

they get ahold of you, they don't say, hey, I was calling because I was curious.

Does that old car take regular or unlettered?

That's not the first thing that, why don't you pick up your phone?

They're not worried you weren't picking up your phone because you might have been having

a medical incident.
