Berkeley approved a measure this week that pledges to bring

sweeping police reform. It includes proposals that will take police off-traffic enforcement and

calls regarding homeless and mental health issues, put forth transparent community forums about policing

and cut funding by 50%. Mayor Jesse Arrigan joins us to talk about the motion. And then at 9.30 a.m. San Jose

Mayor, Sam La Carta will join us to talk about his nine-point plan to reform the city's police

department. His proposals have been met with criticism that they don't go far enough. Calls to shape up

the department come in the wake of protests over police brutality nationwide in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic.
