Welcome into Tom Curran's Patriots Talk podcast.

It is the aftermath.

It's the aftermath of Patriots lost to the Tennessee Titans and Mason Rudolph and a one and six team coming in.

So it's a game the Patriots needed to win.

And I'm going to go back on something that I talked about this week.

When I said the Patriots need to win their games to show urgency, to forget about the talk about foundational pieces and developing players and laying a foundation and building a culture,

win the football games.

Otherwise, I'm not impressed.

Unless the quarterback coming off a concussion runs eight times for 95 yards, completes

for most of the game well over 80% of his passes.

And then on the final play of regulation, throws a touchdown pass as he scoots around for 12 seconds before completing said pass.

So I'm going back on what I said because what the Patriots found today, in which you saw and what I saw,

is that the indicators that we had, that Drake May was a well-researched, well-selected player,

despite the holes on the team around him. What we saw today was a player who was, to borrow a phrase

from tight end hunter- end Hunter Henry, special.

The kind of play today from a position that is the most vital position in professional sports.

And Drake May put the Patriots on his back and carried them to overtime.

Not to a win.

There's a lot of reasons that they didn't win.

And we're going to get into those with Phil Perry in just a second.

But carried them to overtime with a superlative individual performance
