Today marks the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day in World War II.

And I'm Jake Sherman. Three significant stories pop late Thursday, number one.

The San Luis Obispo Tribune reports that a court document from

1996 shows that Tara Reid told her ex-husband, she was sexually harassed while working in

Joe Biden's office in 1993. The declaration does not detail the harassment nor her allegations

of sexual assault. He writes that Reed told him about a problem she was having at work

regarding sexual harassment in Joe Biden's office.

Number two, the New York Times has a two-column lead on DOJ dropping its case against Michael Flynn,

Trump's first national security adviser.

The decision comes after an extraordinary public campaign by the president

and his allies. The Times writes that the move was the latest example of Attorney General William

P. Barr's efforts to chisel away at the results of the Russia investigation. As you'll probably

remember, Flynn had previously pleaded guilty twice to lying to FBI agents.

The House Intelligence Committee released thousands of pages of transcripts from more than 50

of its private interviews during the panel's two-year rush investigation. This is a good

cross-section of stories that are certainly significant in their own right and deserve

healthy media attention. But before you become convinced of their

staying power, remember what else we thought would have seismic impact this year.
