0:34.4	start off with the first piece of news from this morning and that is that the
0:38.0	leaders of Norway, Ireland, and Spain have said their countries will formally
0:42.4	recognize Palestine as a state beginning
0:45.3	May 28th for the sake of quote peace in the Middle East. Norway's prime minister said in
0:51.0	a statement in part, quote,
0:52.7	in the midst of a war with tens of thousands killed
0:55.2	and injured in Gaza, we must keep alive the only alternative
0:59.0	that offers a political solution for Israelis
1:01.9	and Palestinians alike, two states living side by side in peace and security."

1:09.0	Now importantly, Norway, this isn't really that surprising because Norway was the country behind the mediation of the
1:14.5	Oslo Accords which was this peace agreement between Israel and Palestine back in 1993 that in part mapped out a path to a two-state solution but that plan ultimately failed.
