Chris, after we had this fascinating discussion the other week about the

hollow earth, about the earth-based UFOs, et cetera, et cetera, with Alan Greenfield and Walter Bosley

and Michael Mott and Mike Clellan. I was thinking here, what do you think about the hollow earth?

Did you ever read some of those early books from Dr. Bernard and all those other people?

Not that particular one, but one of the first science fiction books I read as a kid was

during the center of the earth, which always has always fascinated me. The whole idea of the

Hollow Earth has always been intriguing to me. I think scientifically it's untenable. Of course, now with the latest word from

Richard Hoagland that the moon, Mars Moon, Phobos is hollow, it kind of brings that whole thing

into more of a larger big picture context. But I don't think so.

If people think that I'm behaving like a typical host of the paracast saying that maybe Richard Hoagland's logic is hollow.

I wouldn't argue with that one, Gene.

I've never really been much of a fan.

I do have problems with people that create cults of personality in this field.

But in terms of the subject matter, I thought that the show was very fascinating.

I think Alan and Michael had some really interesting observations, very bright guys.

I do sense that the whole concept of the hollow earth, I think, as kind of a fairy tale or fantasy, you know, it just doesn't,

to me it is just that. And I do think that there's a good chance that some ancient

civilization did extensively dig tunnels underground. I do think that there are undiscovered tunnel

systems and underground cavern systems.
