Quantum Week is a show in which Chris and I leap into a random week of a random year,

and we talk about movies and music and headlines,

and we are continuing through 1997 in May with Austin Powers and Mbop.

Right, this is the first Austin Powers movie.

Yeah, so the, what is it, International Man of Mystery?

Correct.

I'm not putting that whole title in the fucking thing.

Do I have to put that in the fucking...

I think just Austin Powers.

One or Austin Powers?

I'm just say Austin Powers, yeah.

All right.

I won't designate because, yeah.

Um, yeah. about. And here's why, in my, in my opinion. So, um, it's very different to look at this movie now

in 2020 than it is to work in a movie in 1997. Now, obviously, that's true with everything we see,

but it's more the case with this because it's just so played out. It's a sponge that has been

wrong, so dry. Yeah. And it's really unfair. I did see this

movie when it came out in May or June of that year. I thought it was very enjoyable, very funny,

very interesting, creative was a fun look. I was also a teenager. And so obviously my

sensibilities were different too. But I definitely appreciate the originality of it.
