in connection with the October 2019 killing of 16-year-old Shayna Ritthawler.

A Colorado man is facing two counts of attempted murder following an alleged stabbing attack

on his parents.

Scott Johnson, whose body was found under a beachside cliff.

The Sioux Falls Argus Reader reports that on Thursday, 17-year-old Michael Gavin Campbell

pled guilty to first remand slaughter and connection with the killing of 16-year-old Shayna Ritthawler

from Wyoming.

As part of the plea, the prosecution has asked for a sentence of 50 years in prison.

The proceedings in the case have been kept sealed, so not much was known about the connection

between the suspect and the victim prior last week's plea hearing.

This and other details were disclosed by Michelle Bordewig, Mead County State's attorney

and court.

Bordewig said that Campbell and Ritthawler met on a dating website called Badu and had

been chatting online for several weeks when Shayna decided to run away to live with Campbell

in his house.

On October 3, 2019, Campbell drove from South Dakota to more Croft, Wyoming to pick Shayna
