Coming up on Sword and Scale Daily, New Jersey authorities have arrested 18 accused

members of a lawless caravan that attacked and seriously injured a New Jersey state trooper

that was investigating a home invasion.

In Louisiana, a police officer is facing rape charges for allegedly having sex with the

driver he stopped for speeding and return for leniency.

Finally, a California man is accused of stabbing his wife, kidnapping their one-year-old

daughter and then throwing the child into a ravine.

On the night of April 25, Detective Richard Hershey of the New Jersey state police was investigating

a home invasion at a South Jersey trailer park when he was confronted by a mob of people

who arrived on the scene in five cars.

People who were in two of the vehicles opened fire on him and he was seriously injured.

On Friday, police arrested 10 members of the mob, bringing the total number of arrests

in connection with the incident to 18.

According to authorities, the April 25 incident began around 6 p.m. when five women forced

their way into one of the homes in the trailer park, assaulted the female resident and stole

her cell phone.

The woman sustained injuries including a broken ribbon a punctured lung.

The victim told investigators that she recognized two of the women who attacked her as women
