0:00.0	Hi friends I am Annie F Downs. Let's read the Gospels. Well let's read what happened right after the Gospels.
0:08.0	The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
0:12.2	These are the stories of Jesus Christ life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles.
0:18.0	And the Book of Acts picks up right where the Gospels in and takes us into the birth of the church and
0:25.1	the continued ministry of the disciples and the conversion in the first years of
0:29.5	Paul's ministry as well. This is the book that answers the question. So then what happened?
0:34.7	And what do we do now? So here's how this works. I'm going to read one chapter to you each
0:39.6	day. You can listen or watch on YouTube or read along in your own Bible and then I'll maybe
0:44.5	reflect a little bit on what we're reading and then I'll pray and that's it.
0:48.0	So today is day 11 and I'll be reading acts chapter 11 in the New Living Translation.
0:54.0	Acts 11.
0:59.0	Soon the news reached the Apostles and other believers in Judea that the Gentiles had received the word of God.
1:05.0	But when Peter arrived back in Jerusalem, the Jewish believers criticized him.
1:09.0	You entered the home of Gentiles and even ate with them, they said. Then Peter told them exactly what had happened.
1:16.0	I was in the town of Japa, he said, and while I was praying, I went into a trance and saw a vision.
1:21.1	Something like a large sheet was let down by its four corners from the
1:24.8	sky and it came right down to me. When I looked inside the sheet I saw all sorts of
1:29.5	tame and wild animals, reptiles and birds and I heard a voice say, up Peter kill and eat them no lord I replied
1:37.1	I have never eaten anything that our Jewish laws have declared impure or unclean
1:41.1	but the voice from heaven spoke again, do not call something unclean if
1:45.8	God has made it clean. This happened three times before the sheet and all it contained was
