You've been talking about spring, a whole lot.

Everyone up there in Lincoln's talking about the spring game, and is it going to exist in its

classic form?

Whatever the idealistic spring used to be, that's long gone.

The romantic spring of college football is long gone.

So what actually makes sense in 2025 for Nebraska?

You know, I think we're working through that.

A couple key things happened.

I think last year I saw some teams that were pretty successful.

You know, Ole Miss kind of go away from their spring game.

We had our spring game and it was highly televised.

It was played on repeat over and over and over again. All of sudden, the portal,

I had guys getting hit up in the portal to leave. And it wasn't based on what they had done in the

fall. And, you know, so I said to myself, like, what's the point of giving away information? I learned

a long time ago. Really, I learned from Al Golden when I was an assistant for Emma Temple.

You know, we're, you know, information gathers.

You know, we're not giving away information.

And so to put a game on TV while it's fun, while it's something that there's a player at Penn State I loved,

I'm giving away a lot of information that's proprietary and new coordinators. You know why I just don't know why I would do it

and on the flip side you know we're paying these guys now like um you know and so it's a violent game

and we have to practice and we have to be physical but there's something additional about a
