Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for. This is day two of our Pentecost novena.

Jesus was taken up into heaven 40 days after the resurrection on Ascension Thursday. And the Apostles

were commanded to wait in Jerusalem until they were clothed with power from on

high.

Acts Chapter 1 tells us that they gathered around Mary in the upper room for nine days of

prayer to prepare for Pentecost, to prepare for the birth of the church.

Why did they gather around Mary?

Because the church, which is the body of Christ,

is born in a similar way to Jesus, the head of the church,

and that is by the power of the Holy Spirit and Mary.

That's why Mary is celebrated as a mother of the church on the day after Pentecost. So here's what I want you to understand.

The Holy Spirit and Mary formed Jesus in her womb.

Likewise, the Holy Spirit and Mary will form Jesus in you. So that means the more we turn to Mary, the more we give or

consecrate ourselves to her, the more we live in a profound relationship with her, the more easily

and the more effectively the Holy Spirit as it is in us.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallow would be your name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us to stay our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,
