| 0:52.7 | It came quite naturally from my research as a science journalist. |
| 0:57.2 | I've been writing about health and psychology and nutrition for many, many years. |
| 1:03.3 | And I was also quite interested in health and nutrition myself personally. |
| 1:10.4 | So I was always following very healthy diets and staying on top of all the trends and miracle |
| 1:15.9 | food I should be eating and so on and exercising regularly and all the necessary gadgets. |
| 1:23.6 | And I started coming across more and more research in my professional life that put a challenge |
| 1:29.5 | onto my assumptions about what makes healthy living. |
| 1:33.3 | And so I started reading more and more and interviewing scientists. |
| 1:39.3 | And what I discovered basically completely shattered my previous assumptions because I discovered that |
| 1:44.8 | our social lives, our mental health, our kindness, how socially connected we are, matters at least |
| 1:54.2 | as much to our health and longevity as our diet and exercise, if not more. |
