Ingenuity is a craft that was meant to be an experiment.

Can you fly in the atmosphere of Mars?

It attached itself to the wonder of perseverance,

which is continuing on its mission to sample and prepare samples for return in a subsequent mission.

But ingenuity, after its first initial flights, was at the end of its original mission statement,

or not, so I learned from Bob that ingenuity is still flying after more than 40 flights,

is now coming to the end of winter.

What does this mean for ingenuity Bob?

The chief engineer of ingenuity posted today a very, very nice detailed description of the last

difficult eight months for ingenuity on Mars.

Sometime in May of 22, winter began on Mars, and because the years,

the years, two years, two years long, the seasons are more than six months long each,

they're much longer than on Earth.

So when winter began in May of 22, ingenuity was faced with significant power problems.
