We're in the 20th century, late 20th century.

A huge TV hit, Seinfeld.

If you've seen the episodes you understand,

at some point during episodes where they have to talk through their problems,

they meet at Tom's restaurant on the Upper West Side along Broadway.

Turns out all these years that I was at Tom's, I was in Manhattan for 50 years,

I did not realize what was going on above me, over my head,

an effort to change the way we think of the world.

Bob, what was above me in Tom's all those years? I was dining at Tom's.

Well, I can say this. It's probably not going to be there anymore. But what was there since 61, actually,

was something called the Goddard Institute for Space Studies. And this was a NASA division. This was a NASA office in that building.

And it was put there in 61 with the idea that it would be near Columbia University and they could

do NASA's space studies in conjunction with the university and

this would be a good thing and actually it is a good thing. It was a good idea to a certain

extent. But the trouble is in the last two decades, the people running the Goddard Institute

of Space Studies shifted their focus entirely to climate studies and their focus in the last 20 years is to, was to tamper with science data, to cool the

temperature numbers from the past, for no justification, and to warm the numbers in the

present in the last few years under no justification, to make it appear that the climate

was warming.
