This is CBSI on the world. I'm John Batchew with my good colleague Elizabeth Peake,

writing most recently of education, the election of 28, and a name that is familiar but all again

fresh. Ram Emanuel, former chief of staff of the Obama administration,

former leader in Congress before he left to become mayor of Chicago,

former ambassador to Japan,

and brother of a very large Hollywood player,

his brother, an agent in Hollywood, commanding lots of money

and lots of attention for anyone he finds credible.

He certainly finds his brother credible.

So do I.

As ambassador of Japan, he was outspoken in going forward and confronting China and also moving

the story internationally for the U.S. in all of

Southeast Asia. Good for him. But now, Liz, you've identified that Rahm Emanuel is on a

listening tour in some fashion and has found what he believes to be a winning issue for his nomination

on the Democratic Party for the president

in 2028, education. How does it strike you, Liz? Is this clever? Is this fundamental?

Is this a challenge to the progressives whom we presume have captured the party standard?

I think it's a very interesting new name in the mix, number one.

Who has, as you point out, a pretty terrific CV.

He has seen government from almost every side possible, and he's certainly very thick

with Democrat royalty like the Obama's, the Biden's until recently, etc.

He was Biden's ambassador.
