And I'm Antonia Dodge. This is the third of a short series of podcasts in a relationship to things like marketing and type and money.

And the reason why we're going to be talking about money is the third of this series, because

it probably doesn't feel like a very cohesive series.

It's an emergent series. It's an emergent series that happened over time.

And the reason why is we originally want to talk about types and marketing, but then we got caught

up in this conversation around how marketing is an evil,

almost as if we felt the need to apologize for the concept of marketing to begin with.

And one of the reasons for that is we have been seeing more and more

feedback and comments and just general impressions that people find this concept of marketing and making money and capitalizing on your

talents to make money as being like icky or wrong or gross and I mean I'm not

when I say feedback I don't mean like necessarily just to us.

I mean like in general conversations online.

I'm a Redditor and I'll go on Reddit and I'll read like lots of conversations around

different concepts or different industries and there seems to be like and I can't even

tell what the where the line is but there's like a territory marker of like

acceptable ways of making money and unacceptable ways of making money and

anything that's acceptable is something that's already in the social infrastructure

like if you go to a cubicle job like you went and got a job and now you're working for a business that exists

and that's an acceptable way of making money and you want that business to keep making

money because that's where your paycheck comes from.

And marketing to get that job by using your resume
