Hey, Mark, how are you?

Good.

Listen, I heard you talking about the tunnel proposal yesterday,

and I kind of have the inside track on that because I ran the coalition against the tunnel.

Well, let me just explain.

They've been proposing this for 100 years, but somebody's now, developers proposing a tunnel from Bridgeport to come over to Long Island.

The problem is where would it land in Long Island where it wouldn't cause a traffic

nightmare? Yeah, well, the biggest problem is not just traffic, but it urbanizes anywhere

it lands. So basically the people who come out here to live in the suburbs would lose,

they think it's wonderful that the commute to New England is shorter, but then they lose all

the reasons they came out here,

because the history shows you put a bridge or tunnel, it turns into Queens, and that's not

why they live here. And we fought it with Como, which we were shocked after less than two years

he dropped the proposal, because we basically pointed out to everybody i did meetings all over the island we raised

a ton of money we did a lot of PR uh we lobbied legislators yeah no you got to block the bridge but

let me ask you a question where did they want it to land in long island originally the tunnel was

going to go from rye to siiocese and go underneath oyster bay

a tunnel under the long island sound yeah in 2016 Como proposed that's like a 15 mile 16 mile
