Summary

The Pharisees created extra laws around God's commands to bring the Messiah and restore Israel as a blessing to the world. But when Jesus comes, he shows that he is the fulfillment, authority, and purpose of the law. In this podcast episode, David walks through three stories in Mark where Jesus demonstrates His lordship over the Sabbath and reveals Himself as the long-awaited bridegroom, King, and God of the new creation.

Hey everyone, David here with our second installment of our sermon series on the book of Mark.

Our local church has been going through the book of Mark and I've been able to preach some of those sermons.

So we decided to share four more of them.

Last time we took a look at kind of the opening of Mark and John the Baptist's ministry

And today we're going to continue Mark's thesis around who is Jesus by looking at Jesus's

So Mark's main point is that Jesus is the son of God,

the Messiah, the promised king from the Old Testament who has come to rule and reign with God's

people as God himself. And to prove that, he's going to show you so many different things about
