1:14.0 | Now the Amonuments clause is in the Constitution, and really it wants to prevent public officials, not just presidents, from being beholden to foreign governments. |
1:29.0 | Specifically, it prevents public officials in this country from taking titles or positions in foreign governments, or from taking remuneration from foreign governments. |
1:44.0 | And so what the Democrats that run Marilyn and DC are claiming is because the President of the United States built a hotel in Washington DC, a great hotel by the way. |

1:57.0 | And because some foreign diplomats stay there, maybe they have a meal or two there, that the President of the United States is being enriched by this, and hence influenced. |

2:13.0 | The federal judge involved the District Court judge was appointed by Obama, I would tell the Chief Justice of the United States, and he gave standing to Marilyn and DC even though they didn't have any standing. |
2:25.0 | They claim, look, we get tax receipts from this hotel, so therefore we can raise the issue of the Amonuments clause. That doesn't make any sense. |
2:34.0 | You get tax receipts, then why would you oppose anybody staying at the hotel? |
2:40.0 | Then we look at New York State, another Democrat stronghold. |
2:45.0 | The State Senate in New York has passed a bill of attainer as the Wall Street Journal correctly points out. That is a bill that is aimed directly at one citizen, one individual. |
2:58.0 | That is clearly unconstitutional under our federal constitution. That's not a past bill. That's what they did in Britain and the parliament under the control of many respects by the monarchy. |
