I always get a delightful free song

when I see an actor or comedian or performer

not known for his or her work in the horror genre

and discover evidence that they are indeed one of us, Google Gobble.

As a huge fan of the British comedy troupe, The League of Gentlemen,

it became quite obvious from their self-titled BBC series

that these guys knew and loved tales of terror.

They filled their episodes with tropes and darkness

that could only have come from fans of horror movies and books and television.

The episodes of this wonderfully odd ball series

often dipped into scary storytelling that was knowing and surprising.
