For the past week or so, I've been engaged with a novel, a first novel called Square Wave.

It's written by my guest, Mark the Silva. It's published by a very interesting

new literary press called Two Dollar Radio. And I have to say, I don't offhand know of anything like it.

Now Mark, when you were writing it, were you aware of the absence of peers?

I didn't use any sort of template or draw inspiration in some ways that, I mean, I've heard of authors,

like say Marlon James with his seven killings recently,

using Bolognaud as a savage detective as an explicit template

to sort of structure the confusion or structure the chaos of the book.

But I didn't actually look externally.

I was sort of a inner.

This makes sense to me.

We'll see where it goes.
