Yeah, I'm never quite sure if autumn was arrived with a wallop bore.

We just missed the autumn altogether and went straight to winter.

A lot of strong winds here.

The leaves, beautiful reds and browns

and russets, but they've almost all

been blown away.

It's all lined on the deck now.

A bit later on the programme, one of the great sounds of

winter here in Scotland is the

arrival of some magnificent

birds, and I'm getting really up close to them a

bit later. Potatoes for some reason every time somebody mentions potatoes you know usually in

broadcast terms it's a the humble potato that's compulsory isn't it it's composed that you have to

call it the humble potato but the fact is there's lots of varieties of potatoes. We are kind of dependent on potatoes
