Mario, of course, is a running thought leader, media creator, and coach based here in Marin County, California.

He is the author of the Morning Shakeout Newsletter and the host of the Morning Shakeout podcast.

And every year we get together to riff on various topics, especially focusing on our respective

lives, running journeys and media careers, comparing notes in what has become a very fun annual

tradition that we both enjoy a lot. These episodes are almost always also our longest of the year. This one nearly two

hours in length, so I'll keep the intro short. But what I want to say is that Mario is really one of

the truly great human beings in the sport of running, a person that I look up to very much,

not only for the quality of his written and audio material that he puts out, but also how he carries

himself in the world and in the industry. He is the man, and it's great to have him back on the show.

Good to see you too. It's good to be back. It's year three, year four of this annual conversation.

It's at least three. I think it's year four. That sounds right to me. I have to go back and look, but I know it's at least three. Yeah. Well, it's good to see again for our listeners. Just a reminder, Mario and I always reconnect early in a new year just for personal life, career running updates. Both of us obviously work in the media space. You're somebody, as you know, who I look up to a lot.
