As you guys can tell, I'm doing the show from my dad's place. My mom's moving down to Indianapolis. Got a lot of things going on outside of work right now, but inside of work, we have a really fun show coming your way today. So what we're going to be doing is we're going to be diving more into some of the comments that Marcus Freeman made in his sit down earlier this week with the media. Now, some of the topics that we're covering today, the quotes are more so like backing up some of the things that we've talked about over the course of the season rather than we're only talking about the quotes and then we're going to move on. So in part one, we're talking about the need to start fast this season.

We're going to talk about some of the quotes that Marcus Freeman had around it, the work that they're putting in to start fast. And then we're going to have a really good conversation around like why it's important. It's a different outlook this season. what are the reasons for optimism and why we think that they're going to be able to start fast,

then what do we think it looks like?

Because let's be real about something. Starting fast against Wisconsin and Rice is going to look a lot different than starting fast against Miami and Texas A&M. Part two of today's show, we're going to be diving into the five for five, which is something that Freeman talked about and to sit down. And we're going to talk about the impacts there, how our mindset about it has kind of shifted a little bit since we first heard about the rule.

we're just going to talk about Notre Dame's lofty expectations overall, man. I mean, Vince,

we talk about it all the time between their odds on certain sports books in ESPN and CBS sports and how Notre Dame is viewed going into this season. We're going to talk about Marcus Freeman's comments about that. Then we're also going to talk about why we believe they're in a good position to handle those expectations. And then we're wrapping up today's show, folks, with a daily mailbag geared towards the topics that we're talking about today. So, MB for mailbag, you can always put in a super chat. All of a sudden, it's like on fast forward a little bit, but that's okay because that means I've got more evening as well.

So I think it's a win-win personally, but we'll see how things go.

And I also, I want to say this.

I also really appreciate the fact that Marcus Freeman does these sit downs because, you know, we're in July.

Like July is historically the worst

sports month of the year because there's just really nothing going on. We got treated to

the World Cup, which was at least something different, you know, baseball. But that's it. The

rest is just looking forward to full sports. And so very happy that he

was able to sit down. And it is fairly candid about a lot of different topics. It gives us a bunch of

stuff to talk about, some stuff for the magazine as well. And so just really appreciate the fact that

he was able to do his thing and invite everybody to it and just basically just open it up for 45 minutes.
