Hi, friends. I'm Annie F. Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

These are the stories of Jesus Christ's life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles.

So each month we are reading all four books. As you know, this month we're in chronological order. That means instead of reading them, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, we are mixing them all up.

Today we're going to hit Matthew, Mark, and Luke, no John today, but we are getting mixed up in all sorts of stories in those three.

So every day I'm going to tell you the scripture references and the stories are main themes that we're hitting. And then as I read, I'll tell you the headings.

So today is March 23rd, day 23. And I will be reading Matthew 22, one through 14, Mark 12, 13 to 17, Matthew 22, 15 to 22, Luke 20, 20 to 26, Mark 12, 18 to 27, Matthew 22, 23 to 33, Luke 20, 27 to 40, Mark 12, 28 to 34, Matthew 22, 34 to 40, Mark 12, 35 to 37.

Today we've got a lot of big conversations about who Jesus is. He warns the religious leaders about a lot of things and then one of my favorite stories, the widows offering.

The translation I'm reading from this month is the new living translation.

This is day 23 in chronological order, story of the great feast. Jesus also told them other parables.

He said, the kingdom of heaven can be illustrated by the story of a king who prepared a great wedding feast for his son.

When the banquet was ready, he sent his servants to notify those who were invited, but they all refused to come.

2:12.0

So he sent other servants to tell them the feast has been prepared, the bulls and fat and cattle have been killed and everything is ready.

Come to the banquet, but the guest he had invited ignored them and went their own way, one to his farm and other to his business, other seized his messengers and insulted them and killed them.

The king was furious and he sent out his army to destroy the murderers and burn their town.

And he said to his servants, the wedding feast is ready, the guests I invited aren't worthy of the honor.

Now go out to the street corners and invite everyone you see. So the servants brought in everyone they could find good and battle like and the banquet hall was filled with guests.

But when the king came in to meet the guests, he noticed a man who wasn't wearing the proper clothes for a wedding.

Friend, he asked, how is it that you are here without wedding clothes? But the man had no reply.

Then the king said to his aides, bind his hands and feet and throw him into the outer darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
