Summary

Coming March 23 to The Paracast: Gene and cohost Tim Swartz explore some of the most compelling conspiracy theories of all with John Koerner, author of "The Four Guns: The Stolen History of the Assassinated Presidents," which focuses on the lost or hidden details of the assassinations of Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield, William McKinley and, of course, John F. Kennedy. He’ll also talk about how history was changed due to these tragedies. Koerner is a professor of Social Sciences at SUNY Erie Community College in Buffalo, New York. He has previously appeared on America’s Book of Secrets, William Shatner’s Weird or What, and Coast to Coast AM. John’s other books include "Why The CIA Killed JFK and Malcolm X: The Secret Drug Trade in Laos," and "Exploding the Truth: The JFK, Jr. Assassination." He is also the founder and operator of Paranormal Walks, a ghost walk tour company in Western New York, and lives with his family and his two frustrating cats in Buffalo, N.Y. This has been one crazy episode of the Paracast, which has taken a lot longer to do than anyone

0:40.3

predicted. But we're trying it for the third time now, and hopefully the powers it be will

0:46.8

not interfere and get in the way. Our guest is John Kerner. He's author of The Four Guns, The Stolen History of Assassinated Presidents.

0:57.9

And as you might expect, this particular book covers hidden details or details that we were not

1:04.3

aware of necessarily, of the assassinations of President Lincoln, President Garfield, President

1:10.4

McKinley, and of course JFK.

1:13.7

And we know that JFK supposedly, allegedly, the administration was supposed to release a bunch of documents

1:22.2

about the JFK assassination that have been kept secret for many, many decades. But of course, we haven't seen

1:29.3

them yet. So let's get started. John, welcome to the power cast for the third time. Hopefully

1:35.3

it's a charm. What led you to write this sort of book? Well, I think my grandfather was a big

1:41.8

influence in writing the book. He was a veteran from World War II.

1:46.4

He won the Silver Star.

1:47.5

He was a minesweeper in North Africa.

1:49.6

And he came back with a lot of great war stories.

1:53.3

We also brought back his rifle, too, from the war.

1:56.9

This is such a great memento from his service.

1:59.9

And I got to thinking about like artifacts

2:02.5

are such important teachers of history. I felt like these four guns, anything else in history

2:08.6

would teach us the lessons of the conspiracies, perhaps, and what would have happened if

2:13.4

they survived the assassinations. Okay, let's start with what we don't necessarily know about Abraham Lincoln.
