It comes down to an anecdote I have from David Henderson,

from the Hoover Institution,

about the summer of 1969,

in a nickel mine in Manitoba, very north Manitoba.

David, a very good evening to you. You're in a nickel mine. You're 18 years old. What did you

learn that day, those days you worked? And a nickel mine, David? What do you mean a nickel mine?

It's a big hole in the ground.

The lowest level was 2,300 feet.

The one closest to the service was 300 feet.

It was owned by a major Canadian nickel company called Inco.

I worked for a subcontractor that did diamond drilling.

We weren't drilling for diamonds.

The bits were made of diamonds.

And we brought core to the surface.

The geologists looked at it.

Now, why did I choose that job?

I was on my own financially from age 16.

I started college at age 16.
