0:00.0	When I started reading about manipulation in marriage,
0:03.6	well, just manipulation in general,
0:06.1	the first sentence I read on an article was,
0:08.4	at its core, manipulation is a type of line.
0:11.9	And that changed everything for me people
0:13.8	because I knew manipulation was bad.
0:16.8	And I know we've all been guilty of it,
0:18.1	especially in our marriage.
0:19.2	And some of it I think is conscious and unconscious.
0:21.3	But when I identified it as lying,
0:24.5	I felt like there was this clarity brought to everything
0:27.9	that I have not been able to see clearly
0:31.0	about miscommunication.
0:34.1	And that is the hallmark of manipulation
0:37.1	is there's the sense that I am the one that is wrong.
0:40.3	And this other person's right,
0:41.8	they've proven to me that they're right in some way.
0:44.8	But I still feel like something's off.
0:46.6	Yeah, there's these layers of, I think,
0:49.5	control and insecurity, like fighting each other
0:52.4	or on the same side.
0:53.4	There's fear is involved.
