Senator Joe Manchin will start donating to Republican candidates. Number two, what to watch in

By our very own John Bresdenham and Andrew Desiderio, just weeks after leaving the Democratic Party,

Senator Joe Manchin, the Independent from West Virginia, will start donating money to centrist lawmakers, including Republicans.

Mansion will convert his leadership pack, country roads pack, into a multi-candidate vehicle,

according to a source familiar with the planning. He will then make $5,000 contributions

to representatives Brian Fitzpatrick, the Republican from Pennsylvania,

and Jared Golden, the Democrat from Maine, along with Senator Angus King, the Independent

from Maine.

A second group of contributions will likely include Representative John Curtis, the Republican

from Utah, and John Avlon.

The former CNN host turned Democratic

congressional candidate in Long Island. Curtis is the leading candidate in the Senate GOP primary in

Utah. Both Curtis and Avlon have their primaries tonight. Bansion first elected to the Senate in 2010
