1:00.0 | Welcome back to the half-size-me show. I am your host Heather and as always I am very thankful to be here with you today. |
1:07.0 | I am going to be doing a coaching call with Amy and Amy was a really really good coaching situation because I think what she is struggling with is what many of you would struggle with. |
1:21.0 | She had gotten divorced three years ago and she is noticing that she is a distinctly different way of handling her life on the weekends that she has her kids from the weekends she doesn't have her kids. |
1:35.0 | And we kind of have to set up almost two different protocols for the time period that she has children with her and the time that she doesn't. |
1:45.0 | And I see this is true for a lot of my one-on-one coaching clients as well when they have kids versus they don't have the kids. It can make a really big difference in the impact of how they eat, how they go to the gym, how they work out. |
1:59.0 | So if you are one of those people who you are in a divorce situation and you get your kids part time and your ex gets them the other time, I think you are going to get to hear a lot of valuable information with Amy on how we structured that to help support her. |
2:15.0 | So now before we get to our coaching call, I wanted to dive into some of the questions that you have emailed to me. |
2:22.0 | All right. So the first email that came in was from Becky. She says, I am a podcast premium subscriber and will continue to be forever if the Carolina type coaching calls continue on an ongoing basis. They are incredible. |
2:39.0 | Can't wait for the second round starting soon. Thanks for all you do. You are changing lives. Becky, oh, thank you so much, Becky. I'm glad you are enjoying your podcast premium subscription. |
2:49.0 | And yes, you're going to definitely love hearing Sarah's episodes as well. All right. Kayla says, I love your podcast. I've lost 70 to 65 pounds over three years ago. |
2:59.0 | And I maintain my weight loss 135 to 145 for the last two years. I'm trying to be body positive. But lately I have been trying to lose the last 10 pounds. |
3:09.0 | This leads me to thinking I should try and do stupid things. I didn't do to lose weight like juice fasting. I don't know why just sticking to my habits isn't good enough for my brain anymore. Thanks Kayla. |
3:24.0 | Yeah. So Kayla, that's actually very common. Your brain is always going to set the bar just a little bit further. It's going to say, let's just do a little bit more. Let's lose a little bit more. Let's get a little bit smaller. |
3:36.0 | It's always going to do that. And if you get a chance to read the book, just a thought by Dr. Amy Johnson, she specifically talks about that. |
3:44.0 | I also did some videos in my thinking leads to eating series on how the goal keeps getting moved. Your brain is just wired that way. There's not really a whole lot you can do other than to talk back to yourself and say, yeah, I hear what you're saying. |
4:02.0 | But we're really not going to be because once you get the next 10 off, then it'll be another five, then it'll be another three. It's like, it can't just be satisfied with where it is right now. And I see this all the time. |
4:14.0 | I'll have a client get to a weight that they really were excited to get to. And then a month or so goes by and they're looking for the next thing that needs to be fixed or changed. |
4:22.0 | So it's a very common occurrence. I think just knowing that can be very helpful because often we think we're the only one you're not. And it's also good to know that ultimately this is going to be something that will show up in all areas of your life. |
4:37.0 | Not even just weight loss. So I hope that helps. Next question comes from Beverly. |
4:42.0 | I've been listening to the podcast for the last year or so and I love it. I keep hearing things over and over that apply directly to me yet can't seem to stick with my habits for a large long of time. |
4:53.0 | I've been a hundred pounds overweight for about the last 30 years with 50 coming off and on multiple times. |
