We have scheduled for later today a podcast that I've been looking forward to for a very long time with Francis Fukuyama

on his book Liberalism and it's discontents, but they requested that we hold it until

close to pub date, which is next week, so we're gonna do that.

And then, so I thought, okay, well, we just had this Elon Musk news with the Twitter and this Disney fight that's

roiling everybody. It seems like a perfect issue climate for one David French to do. We have not an emergency pod. A pod imbued with a sense of emergency.

And, but here's the real kicker.

I came down with some horrible bug. I don't know if it's COVID.

My fever keeps spiking back up. I got, I've had a really rough last like 18 hours.

And so there may come a point where David is basically like a box or keeping me up to go another round is just holding me up on this thing and I apologize in advance.

So, I guess let's start with the Disney stuff. Okay, because like I'm, I'm, I'm, there's another one of these issues where I'm sort of a, I said, but I think I put it last week, a prairie fire of nuance.

Right.

I think the Charlie's position and your position is on the merits, the correct position.

But, you know, there are, there are times in life when doing as sort of a matter of prudence or statesmanship or whatever, there are times when doing something that's sort of indefensible on the merits has a salutary affect anyway.

That's the argument that you get from the smarter, you know, not from the people who call right Disney grumer, whatever, but from the smarter people like Rich Lowry, that's his sort of position is is like sort of Ben Shapiro's as far as I can gather, which I want to circle back to.
