But what does this tell us about the direction of travel for a Democratic Party still reeling after last November's election defeat?

that something really seismic was about to unfold.

Because the political establishment of the Democratic Party is so embedded

that was this really going to be a mega shock

that would see, as you said, a 33-year-old Muslim,

democratic socialist, self-described, unseat the giant figure of one of the kind of dynastic families

of New York politics, the Cuomo's. And sure enough, Andrew Cuomo was slain in this battle for

the Democratic Party nomination. And a lot of progressive Democrats are thinking, wow, we are on

the march now. Yeah, we're going to talk about Mam Darnie, but it is worth reflecting on the

person he beat, because Andrew Cuomo is a former New York governor and also the son of a former New York
